Online therapy

Therapy with a registered clinician, from wherever you can close a door.

Last updated: 2026-06-10

What a session actually looks like

A session is 50 minutes, over secure video, with a clinician registered to practise in Ontario. You do not need a referral. You do not need a diagnosis. You do not need the right words for what you are feeling. You bring what you are carrying, and the two of you start there.

Saalvio is a virtual practice. Therapy happens from wherever you can close a door: your kitchen, your car, your office after everyone has gone home. For a lot of people, that is the difference between going and not going.

If the first therapist is not the right fit, switching is easy and nobody is offended. The fit matters more than anything else, and your therapist will tell you the same.

Meet our therapists How Saalvio works

You can ask before you book

You should be able to ask a therapist a question before you pay them. So now you can.

Message any therapist on our team before you book. Ask whether they have worked with someone like you. Whether they speak your first language. Whether their approach fits what you are going through. Messaging is free, there is no obligation, and most therapists reply within one to two business days.

It is not therapy by text and it is not crisis support. It is the conversation you deserve to have before anyone asks you to commit to anything.

How messaging works

What it costs

Your first session is free. Every Canadian's first therapy session with a Saalvio clinician is free, part of CANADAHEALS, our standing public health commitment. No card required, no obligation to continue.

After that, sessions are $100 to $150 CAD per 50-minute session, set collaboratively with your therapist. Saalvio does not bill insurers directly, but sessions with a registered psychotherapist or registered social worker are typically reimbursable under most Canadian extended health benefit plans, and every session comes with a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurer.

What people bring to therapy

Anxiety. Depression. Grief. Burnout. A marriage under strain. A family that does not talk about feelings. The thing that happened years ago that still wakes you at night.

There is no minimum severity for therapy. If something is heavy enough that you are reading this page, it is heavy enough to bring.

What we work with

How our therapists work

Different people need different kinds of help, and no single method fits everyone. Across our clinical team you will find cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT, which works on the patterns between thoughts, feelings, and actions), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT, which builds practical skills for intense emotions), EMDR (a structured way of processing trauma), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT, which helps you make room for hard feelings while moving toward what matters to you), and several other evidence-based approaches.

You do not need to know which one you need. Your therapist will explain what they are doing and why, in plain words, and the approach is chosen around you, not the other way around.

Therapy in the language you think in

Therapy at Saalvio happens in English, with Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, and Pashto available with specific therapists. Mental health does not look the same in every kitchen, and a therapist who understands the family you come from matters as much as one with the right training.

Each therapist's profile lists the languages they work in. We are honest about the languages we can and cannot offer; French-language therapy is on our roadmap.
