Who Saalvio works with on the partner side

Family physicians and nurse practitioners

If a patient in your panel needs talk therapy and your usual wait list is long, refer them. Ontario clients can typically be seen within two weeks. The free first session under CANADAHEALS means the patient can decide before any money changes hands, which makes it easier for you to refer comfortably. Patients who are not yet ready to book can also message a Saalvio therapist with questions first, at no cost and no commitment.

Walk-in clinics and primary care groups

When a clinic sees more mental health presentations than its on-staff capacity can hold, we are a regulated next step. A formal referral protocol can be set up so your front-desk team has a single number to give patients.

Employers and benefits teams

Add Saalvio to your benefits ecosystem alongside your EAP and extended health plan. Two common shapes: a sponsored session pool for employees (Saalvio invoices the employer monthly), or a preferred-provider arrangement where employees still pay through their extended health plan but get expedited intake.

EAPs

Saalvio is not in-network with major EAP networks today. If you operate an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) and want to add our clinical team to your provider list, the partnerships line and the partners inbox are the right place to start.

School boards and post-secondary institutions

Student mental health programs ask for capacity, cultural responsiveness, and quick intake. Saalvio's clinical team includes therapists experienced with adolescents, university students, and immigrant families. Contracts are typically annual, with a session pool sized to the student population.

Other clinicians and clinics

If you are a clinician with a wait list or a scope that does not match a client (different modality, language, or jurisdiction), and you would refer them out, our partnerships team can take a warm handoff.

About Saalvio in brief

Legal entity
Zen Mind Inc., operating as Saalvio. Incorporated in the Province of Ontario. Registered head office in Vaughan, Ontario.
Clinical team
Registered psychotherapists and registered social workers. Our Clinical Director and other team members are named on our About page. Saalvio does not employ physicians, psychiatrists, or psychologists; we are a regulated talk-therapy practice.
Geography
Psychotherapy: Ontario today, with staged expansion to other Canadian provinces and the US. Thrive AI (our CBT chatbot) and the separate guided self-help tools, calming music, and cognitive games: Canada and the US.
Format
Fully virtual practice. Secure video sessions on a PHIPA-compliant platform. No in-person consulting rooms at this stage.
Capacity
Intake lead time is currently within two weeks for new Ontario clients. We grow the team in step with referral demand so wait lists stay short.
Reimbursement
Receipt-based, not direct billing. Receipts meet Canadian extended health carrier requirements. See our insurance page for carrier-specific notes.

Compliance posture

PHIPA
Personal Health Information Protection Act. Ontario clinical records are managed under PHIPA. Saalvio acts as a Health Information Custodian for clinical files.
PIPEDA
Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. Applies to commercial handling of personal information across Canada outside of clinical custody.
HIPAA-aligned
Our Thrive AI (CBT chatbot), guided self-help tools, calming music, and cognitive games run on US-based subprocessors under signed Business Associate Agreements. A formal HIPAA audit is scheduled ahead of US psychotherapy expansion.
Law 25
Quebec's modernized privacy framework is under formal evaluation. Saalvio does not yet claim Law 25 compliance and is not currently accepting Quebec psychotherapy clients.
Insurance
Each Saalvio psychotherapist is independently onboarded with their own professional liability insurance, held by the clinician (not by Saalvio) and required by their regulator. Clinical liability rests with the registered clinician providing the care, not with Saalvio as the platform. Saalvio separately carries cyber liability coverage at the corporate level. Certificates available to partners under NDA.
Documentation
Full safeguards summary on our Security and Compliance page. Privacy impact assessments and DPA templates available to partners on request.

How to refer a client

  1. Tell the client to book directly. Point them at saalvio.com/book. Their first session is free under CANADAHEALS; they can decide on fit before money is involved.
  2. Or tell the client to message a therapist first. For patients not yet ready to commit to a session, pre-booking messaging lets them write to any Saalvio therapist with questions about approach, scope, language, or fit. No cost, no commitment, and they hear back from the actual clinician within a business day or two. It removes the blind-booking barrier that leaves many patients in your office without a clear next step.
  3. Or send the client our way directly. Email [email protected] with the client's first name, contact details, and one or two lines of clinical context. We will contact them with intake details within one business day. Your release-of-information document goes to the same inbox.
  4. For an ongoing referral arrangement, call us. If your practice or clinic is going to refer regularly, a brief setup call lets us agree on intake protocol, who confirms with whom, and how the loop closes. (289) 963-9881.
