1. Who these Terms apply to

These Terms of Service are a contract between you and Zen Mind Inc., operating as Saalvio (the company behind saalvio.com, our psychotherapy service, Thrive AI, and our separate guided CBT self-help tools, calming music, and cognitive games). By visiting saalvio.com, creating an account, booking a session, or using any Saalvio product, you agree to these Terms.

2. What Saalvio is, and is not

Saalvio is:

  • An online talk-therapy service in Ontario, delivered by Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO) and Registered Social Workers (OCSWSSW).
  • Thrive AI, our CBT chatbot, available across Canada and the US.
  • Guided CBT-based self-help tools, calming music, and cognitive games, offered as separate products across Canada and the US.
  • Educational content, available to anyone, anywhere.

Saalvio is not:

  • A crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For mental-health crisis support, call or text 988.
  • A medical practice that diagnoses or prescribes. Our clinical staff are registered psychotherapists and registered social workers, not physicians, psychiatrists, or psychologists.
  • A substitute for emergency or specialist medical care.

3. Eligibility

You can book psychotherapy with Saalvio if you are 14 or older and physically located in Ontario at the time of your session. Clients under 16 may require a capable-consent assessment under CRPO guidance. Adults outside Ontario can join our waitlist and use Thrive AI, our separate guided CBT self-help tools, calming music, cognitive games, and free educational content. Thrive AI is intended for users 14 and older.

4. Account responsibilities

  • Give us accurate information when you sign up.
  • Keep your password private and your account secure.
  • Tell us promptly if you suspect your account has been compromised.

5. Sessions, cancellations, and no-shows

The first session with any Saalvio therapist is free. Standard sessions are $100 to $150 CAD per 50-minute session. The specific fee within that range is agreed between you and your therapist at the end of the first session.

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations and reschedules. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or no-shows, may be charged the full fee. Your therapist will explain their specific cancellation policy at intake.

6. Insurance and reimbursement

Saalvio does not bill insurance directly. After each session, we provide a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance provider. Coverage depends on your specific plan; we do not guarantee reimbursement. See our Insurance page for the providers most clients reimburse through.

7. Using the Saalvio app and Thrive AI

Thrive AI is a CBT chatbot, not a clinical service. It does not replace therapy and is not designed to handle crises. If Thrive AI detects high-risk content, it will surface 911 and 988 and step back. Use Thrive AI in good faith, do not attempt to manipulate it for unsafe purposes, and do not share another person's personal information through it. Our guided CBT self-help tools, calming music, and cognitive games are similarly self-help products: they are not therapy, not crisis services, and not regulated medical devices.

7a. Saalvio app subscriptions

Saalvio app subscriptions (Basic $4.99 per month, Pro $9.99 per month, Premium $14.99 per month CAD) are sold and billed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Payment is processed by Apple, Google, and our payment processor Stripe under their respective billing terms. Saalvio never sees your card data.

Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing cycle at the regular monthly rate. Cancellation, refunds, and dispute resolution for app store purchases are governed by Apple's and Google's policies. Manage your subscription, change your plan, or cancel through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Saalvio cannot directly issue refunds for app store purchases.

The CANADAHEALS promotion gives you one year of any paid plan at no cost. After the year, the subscription auto-renews at the regular monthly rate of whichever plan you picked, unless you cancel through your app store account first. CANADAHEALS is marketed in Canada and is redeemable in Canada and the United States. One redemption per Apple ID or Google account.

Saalvio app subscriptions are separate from Saalvio psychotherapy sessions. CANADAHEALS does not apply to therapy sessions, which have their own pricing model.

8. Acceptable use

  • Do not use Saalvio to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
  • Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
  • Do not interfere with the security or integrity of our systems.
  • Do not copy or redistribute Saalvio content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

9. Intellectual property

All content on saalvio.com (text, graphics, design, code) is owned by Zen Mind Inc. or its licensors. You may quote and link to our content for personal or non-commercial use as long as you credit Saalvio and link back. For any other use, write to [email protected].

10. Disclaimers

Saalvio's educational content is informational. It is not personal medical advice. Reading our articles does not create a therapist-client relationship. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we provide saalvio.com and Thrive AI on an as-is and as-available basis, without warranties of any kind.

11. Limitation of liability

Where the law permits, Saalvio's total liability for any claim arising out of your use of our website or Thrive AI is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability we cannot limit by law (such as liability for gross negligence or intentional misconduct).

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms.

13. Changes

We can update these Terms. Material changes are posted on this page and, where appropriate, announced by email. Continuing to use Saalvio after a change means you accept the updated Terms. The 'Last updated' date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
