Saalvio is a virtual practice serving every part of Ontario. Our clinical team is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. We are accepting new clients and the first session is free.
Ontario is a big province. From the GTA to Ottawa, from London to Thunder Bay, the kind of help people need depends on where they live, who they are, and what they are working through. Saalvio is built to serve all of it.
Therapy with Saalvio is virtual, which matters in a province this size. You do not need to live in a city with a strong private-practice market to work with a registered psychotherapist or registered social worker. You do not need to drive an hour to an appointment. You do not need to choose between a therapist you cannot afford and a public-system waitlist that takes months.
Our clinical team works in English, with Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, and Pashto available with specific therapists. French-language therapy is on our Phase 2 roadmap. We are honest about the languages we can and cannot offer.
Every session is confidential, regulated, and built around what you bring in. Your first session is free under CANADAHEALS, Saalvio's standing public health commitment to Canadian mental health. Switching therapists is easy if the match is not right.
If you are not ready to book, you can message a Saalvio therapist first. Pre-booking messaging is free, requires no commitment, and is available in English, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, or Pashto. It is not therapy by text and not crisis support; therapy happens in booked sessions, and if you are in crisis right now please use the resources at the top of the page.
We work with clients in every part of Ontario over secure video. The pages below cover the most common cities our clients ask about, with verified local crisis resources for each. If you do not see your city, it does not mean we cannot work with you; it means we have not written a dedicated page yet.

People across Ontario contact Saalvio for a wide range of reasons. None of these are exhaustive; they are starting points.
Anxiety and depression that has been silently carried for months or years.
Burnout in healthcare, tech, public service, trades, and education.
Trauma processing, including PTSD, complex trauma, and the long-shadow effect of childhood experiences.
Postpartum mental health, including in regions where in-person perinatal services are sparse.
Family and intergenerational tension in immigrant and second-generation households.
Substance use, especially alcohol, that has become a way to manage stress and is not stopping.
Identity, relationships, grief, and the kind of mid-life questions that do not have a clinical name attached to them.
Ontario is one of the most culturally diverse places on the planet. Our clinical team works with that with some honest limits.
Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, and Pashto are available with specific therapists on our team. We do not currently offer therapy in French, Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, Farsi, or any Indigenous language. If working in a language we do not offer is essential for you, we will tell you that and (where we can) point you to a colleague or organisation we trust.
Cultural context matters in therapy even when you and your therapist are not from the same background. Our clinical team takes that seriously. If a community-rooted service in your region is a better match for you, we will say so.
Across Ontario, most extended health benefits plans reimburse for sessions with a registered psychotherapist or a registered social worker. The major Canadian insurers (Manulife, Sun Life, Canada Life, Green Shield, Desjardins) cover both categories on most plans, though limits vary.
Some plans treat the two regulator categories differently or split them into separate annual limits. Our clinical team has both kinds of regulated professional, so we can usually match you to a category your plan covers well.
Saalvio does not direct-bill in Phase 1. We issue receipts after each session for you to submit. The first session is free regardless of coverage. Our fees are in the $100-$150 collaborative range and we hold subsidised sliding-scale spots when we can.
OHIP does not cover private psychotherapy. Therapy through OHIP-funded programs (CMHA, hospital outpatient clinics) is publicly funded but typically has long waitlists.
Your first session is free under CANADAHEALS, Saalvio's standing public health commitment to Canadian mental health. Saalvio does not bill insurers directly; we send a detailed receipt for you to submit to your extended health plan.

These are the evidence-based approaches our clinical team uses most often. Your therapist will pick the right fit for what you are bringing in.
A practical, well-studied therapy that helps you notice the link between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours so you can change patterns that hurt you.
A therapy for people who have tried to think their way out of hard feelings and got tired. ACT helps you stop fighting your thoughts and start moving toward what matters.
A structured therapy for processing distressing memories. Uses guided eye movements (or other side-to-side input) to help your brain finish the work it could not finish at the time.
An eight-week programme that combines mindfulness practice with cognitive therapy skills. Best known for keeping depression from coming back.
A skills-based therapy for big, hard-to-regulate emotions, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. Built on the idea that two opposite things can be true at the same time.
A therapy that treats your inner world as a system of "parts," each with its own role. Helps you understand the parts of you that conflict, protect, or hurt, and lead them from a calmer place.
You do not need to know what you have to start. These are some of the concerns that show up most often in our work; if yours is not on the list, that is fine, we will figure it out together.
Anxiety is your body's alarm system stuck in the on position. Therapy can quiet it without taking away the parts of caring that you actually want to keep.
Read about AnxietyDepression is not just sadness. It is the loss of energy, interest, and a sense that anything will be different. Therapy helps you find the door back to your own life.
Read about DepressionBurnout is not just being tired. It is the slow disappearance of you, in service of a workplace, a caregiving role, or both. Recovery is real and takes longer than people expect.
Read about BurnoutTrauma is more than the worst day. It is also the everyday cost of growing up around fear or unpredictability. Therapy can help, even when the events are decades old.
Read about TraumaPTSD is what happens when a difficult experience does not finish processing. Your body keeps reacting as if the event is still happening. Therapy helps your brain finish what got interrupted.
Read about PTSDThe postpartum period can bring depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or all three. None of it makes you a bad parent. All of it is treatable, and reaching out is one of the most important things you can do.
Read about PostpartumNo. We work with clients across Ontario over secure video. As long as you are physically in Ontario at the time of the session, your therapist can see you.
No. Saalvio is a private practice. Some publicly funded mental health services in Ontario are covered by OHIP (hospital outpatient programs, CMHA-run programs); waitlists for those are often long. Saalvio is one of the private options.
Yes. Our team is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Both colleges hold practitioners to public standards of practice.
Not currently. French-language therapy is on our Phase 2 roadmap. If French is essential for you, we will tell you that and point you to a francophone provider we trust if we can.
A conversation about what is going on for you and what you would like to be different. No homework, no diagnosis pushed on you, no obligation to continue. The first session is free.
Tell us a little about what you are bringing in and we will match you. You can also browse the therapist profiles directly. If the first match is not right, switching is easy.
Your first session is free under CANADAHEALS. There is no obligation to continue after the first session, and switching therapists is easy if the first match is not right.
