About Sarah Mikael

I am Sarah Mikael, a Registered Social Worker and therapist, regulated by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I know how it feels to struggle, to wear a fake smile while holding back tears. I have been there. That is not something I say to fill space. It is the reason I do this work, and it is what I carry with me into every session.

My approach is built on the understanding that therapy is a partnership. We work together to understand your challenges, to build on your strengths, and to develop practical tools that help you feel more confident and grounded. I hold a Master of Social Work, a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, and certifications in grief and bereavement care and in opioid use disorder treatment. I draw on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), trauma-informed approaches, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (a present-focused method that centres what is already working), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness-based and strengths-based methods. I work with children (6+), adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

I come from multicultural roots and I work in English, Urdu, Pashto, and Hindi. That matters, because some things can only be said in the first language. I am part of Saalvio's clinical team. On Saalvio, your story, your sessions, and your messages are held in one place. You can message me before you book, at no cost and with no commitment. Your first session is free, and there is no pressure to continue.
