Online therapy Ontario

Online therapy in Vaughan

Saalvio is a virtual practice serving Vaughan and the rest of York Region. Our corporate office is at 3300 Highway 7 in Vaughan, though sessions happen over secure video, not in person. Our clinical team is registered in Ontario, accepting new clients, and the first session is free.

Online therapy in Vaughan, in plain terms

Vaughan is a city of distinct communities (Woodbridge, Maple, Concord, Kleinburg, Thornhill) more than a single place. It has one of the largest Italian Canadian populations in the country, a growing South Asian and Russian-speaking community, and a long commercial spine along Highway 7 that has reshaped the area in the last fifteen years.

Therapy with Saalvio in Vaughan happens over secure video. Our Highway 7 office is the company's corporate address; we are not running a clinic out of it. Sessions are virtual, scheduled around your life, with no parking or commute.

Our clinicians are registered psychotherapists and registered social workers in Ontario. The first session is free and switching therapists is straightforward if the match is not right.

Serving clients across Vaughan, including:

  • Woodbridge
  • Maple
  • Concord
  • Kleinburg
  • Thornhill
  • Vaughan Metropolitan Centre
  • Vellore Village

Common reasons people in Vaughan seek therapy

A few patterns come up often in our work with Vaughan clients.

  • Family-business stress. Many Vaughan households are tied to a small or mid-sized family business (construction, food, real estate, retail). The line between work, family, and identity can blur in ways therapy can help untangle.

  • Intergenerational tension between Italian Canadian, South Asian, or Eastern European immigrant parents and their Canadian-raised children. The conversation about marriage, career, and family obligation.

  • Anxiety and depression that has been carried quietly because reaching out has felt like a sign of weakness in the family culture.

  • Substance use, especially alcohol, that has become a way to manage stress and is not stopping the way it used to.

  • Postpartum mental health in households where extended family is deeply present (sometimes living in the basement, sometimes calling every day) and has opinions.

Community and language

Vaughan's communities are layered: long-standing Italian Canadian and Jewish (in Thornhill), and growing South Asian, Russian-speaking, and Iranian communities. Our clinical team works with that with some honest limits.

Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, and Pashto are available with specific therapists on our team. For Italian, Russian, Persian, Hebrew, or other languages, we will be honest about whether the right match is on our team or with someone else.

Family-aware therapy matters here. For many Vaughan clients, the family system is part of daily life. The work is about navigating those relationships well, not telling you to walk away from them.

Insurance and fees

Most Vaughan employers carry extended health benefits that reimburse for registered psychotherapists and registered social workers. Family-business plans can be smaller or more variable; check the specifics with whoever handles your benefits.

If you are paying out of pocket, ask. The first session is always free, and we hold subsidised sliding-scale spots when we can.

Saalvio does not direct-bill in Phase 1. We issue receipts after each session.

Your first session is free under CANADAHEALS, Saalvio's standing public health commitment to Canadian mental health. Saalvio does not bill insurers directly; we send a detailed receipt for you to submit to your extended health plan.

Therapy approaches that help

These are the evidence-based approaches our clinical team uses most often. Your therapist will pick the right fit for what you are bringing in.

Common questions

Saalvio has a Vaughan office. Can I come in person?

Not in Phase 1. Our 3300 Highway 7 address is our corporate office; the clinical work is virtual. We may add in-person sessions in a later phase.

I am part of my family business and the line between work and family is gone. Can therapy help?

Yes. Family-business stress is a recurring theme in our Vaughan work. The therapist will not push you to "set boundaries" in a way that ignores how your family actually functions; the work is about what is sustainable for you inside the system.

I do not want my family to know I am in therapy.

They do not have to. Saalvio is virtual. There is no waiting room or community parking lot. Your sessions are confidential.

I have tried EAP and it did not help. What is different here?

EAPs are short (often 3 to 6 sessions). Saalvio is private practice; sessions continue as long as the work needs them to. Many of our clients start with EAP and switch when they need more depth.
