Saalvio clinical team
Jessica Cashmore , RP (Qualifying)
Jessica is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) whose own lived experience with a physical disability grounds her understanding of what it means to need, and to finally find, a listener who does not look past what is hard.
About Jessica Cashmore
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and I know that starting therapy can feel vulnerable. I have felt it myself. My own lived experience with a physical disability has given me a personal understanding of what it is like to navigate daily life when your body adds its own layer to every challenge. It has also shown me how much it matters to have someone who actually listens, without rushing past the hard parts.
That understanding shapes how I work. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, an evidence-based approach used to process distressing memories and reduce their emotional weight), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), and Mindfulness-Based approaches. I see our work as fully collaborative. You are in the driver's seat. I am here to guide, to challenge gently when it serves you, and to stay steady beside you through the whole process.
I am part of Saalvio's clinical team and I work virtually. On Saalvio, you can message me before you book, at no cost and with no commitment, to ask whatever you need. Your first session is free, and there is no pressure to continue.
Approach to therapy
Jessica works with teens, adults, couples, and individuals with disabilities, drawing on EMDR, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness-based approaches within a person-centred framework. Her style is gentle but honest: she will not let you stay stuck if movement is possible, and she will not push you faster than you are ready to go.
