Usman Khan is a psychotherapist based in Ontario. His background spans clinical medicine, public health, and counselling psychology. He earned his medical degree in 2012 and later completed graduate training in both public health and psychotherapy. Over time, he recognized that clinical outcomes alone offered an incomplete picture of a person’s experience and that the more enduring questions can lie beyond diagnosis: how individuals make sense of their suffering, how they adapt, and what allows them to move forward. That insight has continued to shape his approach over the last decade.
He works with adolescents and adults facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and the psychological effects of motor vehicle accidents. He has a particular interest in working with clients from diverse cultural or religious backgrounds and approaches each case with a high level of clinical care and cultural awareness.
Usman uses approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, and narrative-based work. He prioritizes building a strong therapeutic relationship and tailoring each session to the client’s history, values, and goals.
